Transition Age Youth Program - Alameda

Starting Compensation:

27.90 - 33.48 USD Per Year

Working Location:

San Leandro: San Leandro Center (In-Person Position)

Working Hours/Shift:

Monday-Friday AM Shift (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM)

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

  • Bachelors Degree in an education behavioral or mental health related field.
  • 2 years in an employment assistance capacity.
  • 1 year experience in mental health or related field.

(Years of experience can be combination of above)

  • Work experience should include performing a combination of two (2) or more of the following functions related to vocational counseling: job development job coaching hiring or recruiting; or direct service experience with disabled or disadvantaged populations (such as mentally ill substance use disorder or co-occurring disorders) to achieve training education and employment goals.) OR
  • A total of 6 years or more combined work experience as described above may substitute for a bachelors degree.
  • Valid California Drivers License.

NOTE: Must possess a valid California Drivers License and maintain a driving record that meets the company drivers eligibility policy.

How you will make a difference (job overview):

The Employment Specialist works with transition age youth to foster optimal performance in employment settings using the Individual Placement Support model. The Employment Specialist is an integral part of the TAY treatment team.

Division/Program Overview:

  • Outpatient community-based program that serves youth age 18-25 with serious and persistent mental health issues
  • Program provides intensive case management outreach and engagement medication support as well as mental health counseling peer groups and supportive services to assist TAY transition to adult life.
  • Services offered are trauma informed and culturally responsive.

In accordance with California law the grade for this position is 27.90 - 44.64. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience internal equity and other factors permitted by law.
