Job Description

Summary of Position

The Waterpark Assistant Director supports the Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the waterpark ensuring a safe fun and smooth experience for all guests. This role involves assisting in the management of staff safety protocols guest services operations and financial tracking helping ensure that the park runs efficiently and meets its business goals. The Assistant Director also plays a key role in the development and implementation of operational strategies.

All Waterpark Staffing.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a large team
  • Proven experience in managing aquatic facilities or waterparks
  • Certified lifeguard and CPR/First Aid trained
  • Thorough understanding of waterpark safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with clients vendors staff and guests
  • Must be able to speak read write and communicate in English to adequately perform the duties of the job
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Must show initiative including anticipating guest or operational needs
  • Ability to work varying schedules that include evenings weekends holidays and extended hours as business dictates.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Recreation Management Aquatics or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aquatics management and programming
  • Lifeguard and CPR Certifications
  • Applicable state certifications as required
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word Power Point Excel and Outlook and other required systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Support:

  • Assist the Director in overseeing daily operations of the waterpark ensuring efficient and smooth functionality across all departments.
  • Help ensure that all rides attractions and guest services are running efficiently and up to the highest operational standards.
  • Aid in the implementation and monitoring of maintenance schedules and safety checks for rides pools and facilities.

Team Leadership & Staff Management:

  • Provide support in recruiting training and mentoring staff across various departments.
  • Assist in overseeing scheduling and ensuring that all areas of the park are adequately staffed.
  • Encourage and motivate team members to provide excellent customer service reinforcing a positive and safe work environment.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff and assist in resolving employee issues or concerns.

Guest Experience & Safety:

  • Assist in ensuring that all safety protocols are followed including water quality ride safety and emergency response procedures.
  • Help monitor guest feedback and complaints assisting in the resolution of issues and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
  • Support in the development and delivery of training on guest service standards safety protocols and park procedures.

Financial Assistance & Budget Support:

  • Assist the Director in managing the budget tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Help analyze financial reports sales data and performance metrics to ensure the waterpark is meeting financial goals.
  • Contribute to promotional initiatives aimed at increasing revenue such as ticket sales or special events.

Marketing & Promotions:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to assist in the development and execution of promotional campaigns special events and seasonal activities.
  • Help ensure that marketing materials are up-to-date and aligned with park objectives and guest expectations.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure that all operational practices comply with local state and federal regulations especially regarding safety and health standards.
  • Assist in preparing reports for senior leadership highlighting key performance metrics and operational issues.
  • Stay informed about industry trends regulations and best practices to recommend improvements in park operations.

Special Projects & Initiatives:

  • Support the Director in the planning and execution of new projects such as facility upgrades or new attractions.
  • Take specific initiatives or projects as delegated such as enhancing guest experience or streamlining operational processes.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Waterpark Director.
