Fraud Investigations Community Service Officer Part-Time
Job Summary:
Fraud Investigations Community Service Officers are non-sworn employees of the Police Department. Job duties include investigating fraud cases gathering evidence analyzing data reporting findings collaborating with detectives/legal staying informed on laws and regulations testifying in court advising organizations conducting risk assessments and maintaining confidentiality.
In the event operational needs dictate this position may be required to rotate to patrol and perform the duties of a Patrol Community Service Officer. Patrol Community Service Officers are uniformed non-sworn employees of the Police Department. Duties include assisting citizens investigating incidents such as lost/found property non-injury traffic accidents misdemeanor thefts and working at the Front Desk of the Police Department. The incumbent is responsible for enforcing municipal ordinances on a limited basis generating reports documenting actions and taking phone reports assisting the department by directing traffic when necessary transporting vehicles for repair assisting with school crossing guard duties working with community and neighborhood groups and transporting dispatch tapes. The incumbent must be able to write clear concise and accurate reports and have excellent communication and customer service skills in dealing with citizens business owners vendors and coworkers. The incumbent may be required to testify in court.
TESTING: Selected applicants will be required to take a drug test ErgoMed physical evaluation polygraph and thorough background investigation prior to employment.
