Minimum Qualifications for Home Health Aide (HHA)
- Minimum one year work experience (does not have to be in the HHA field)
- Successfully completion of a state approved HHA training course or vocational school program
- Submit to a criminal background check in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations
- Be at least 18 years of age
What you Will Do as a Home Health Aide (HHA)
You will provide assistance to patients in their home with Activities of Daily Living based on individual care plans. This may include:
- Personal care: hygiene dressing toileting feeding
- Home Management Tasks: laundry meal preparation bed making
- Range of motion/exercises
- Transfers/use of mechanical lifting devices
- Assisting with ambulation
- Medication reminders
- Monitoring the patients condition
- Client interaction to improve quality of life
