The Role:Xylem seeks to hire a Manufacturing Engineering Process Improvement Technician Intern. The engineer will be responsible for engaging with staff test equipment software drawings and procedures needed to transition processes to a standard format. Interface with off and onsite R&D operations quality and other manufacturing engineers to determine product needs and operation constraints.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Participate in meetings and reviews for existing products
Evaluate fixtures equipment tools and work with Manufacturing ENG for improvements and/or replacements
Read and translate mechanical drawings for designs
Create processes and test plans to a standard YSI format from existing drawings and procedures
Assist with production process issues as required
Interface with R&D operations quality and project managers to communicate concerns and clarify constraints of written processes
Evaluate work cells in terms of process equipment capacity etc. to align work areas for optimal efficiency
Manage label design documentation and implementation
Minimum Qualifications: Education Experience Skills Abilities License/Certification:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An individual currently enrolled in a post-secondary University diploma program in Engineering Discipline Mechanical/Industrial preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Key attributes would be: innovative thinking and problem solving; works well in both team and individual settings; self-motivated and self-initiated; reliable; follows problems through to resolution; detail oriented; and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to multi-task learn quickly and be self-directed.
Working knowledge of computers and networking desirable.
Possess good time management and organizational skills.
Able to explain technical terminology to non-technical personnel
Ability to pick-up equipment tools and supplies that weigh up to 25 pounds.

40 hour flexible week (on-site is required).
Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors such as skills experience and work location and is not typically at the top of the range.
