Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with transportation providers (LTL FTL courier etc.) to ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments across the U.S.
- Communicate with internal teams vendors and customers to manage logistics expectations and resolve delivery issues.
- Review purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy and completeness prior to release.
- Create and maintain accurate domestic shipping documentation including Bills of Lading (BOL) packing lists and carrier labels.
- Monitor shipment progress identify delays or discrepancies and work with carriers to resolve issues quickly.
- Maintain shipping schedules track deliveries and report delays or cost issues to management.
- Assist with freight claims and coordinate resolution with carriers when shipments are damaged or lost.
- Support the logistics team in managing freight spend and ensuring budget alignment.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work with purchasing and warehouse teams to coordinate outgoing and incoming shipments.
- Apply working knowledge of domestic shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 23 years of experience in domestic logistics coordination or transportation planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and issue resolution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel Word Outlook SharePoint).
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation and carrier portals (FedEx UPS LTL platforms etc.).
- Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020 as they relate to domestic transactions is a plus.
- Knowledge of ERP or shipping systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics KwikTag etc.) is preferred.
- Experience reviewing freight rates negotiating pricing and selecting cost-effective routing options is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to go up and down stairs.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Must be able to operate a computer phone and other standard office equipment.
- Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while performing job functions.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed.
