Job Description

Bengalla Mining Company is a joint venture with a strong track record of achievement. Our focus is on maintaining strong safety productivity and profitability results. Operational since 1999 Bengalla is in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley and supplies international markets with approximately 13 Mtpa.

Bengalla is an open cut coal mine offering a residential lifestyle. The development consent for the operation provides the ability to mine through to 2039. The Opportunity

Due to recent internal movement we are seeking a talented and motivated Reliability Engineer to join our Asset Management team. Reporting to the Reliability Specialist you will be a key driver in enhancing the performance of our mobile equipment fleet. Leveraging data insights and sound engineering principles you will lead efforts to improve equipment reliability minimise downtime and embed a proactive approach to asset reliability across the operation.

This is a MondayFriday residential-based position offering a lifestyle-friendly work arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to a stable and respected mining operation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse equipment performance and data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination (DE) investigations
  • Develop and optimise asset strategies including condition monitoring and life cycle plans
  • Support the planning and execution of maintenance shutdowns and component replacements
  • Provide engineering support to the Off-Site Repairs (OSR) team including repair scope development and review
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Operations OEMs and specialist contractors to implement sustainable solutions
  • Champion reliability best practice and build capability across the business

Qualifications and experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A mechanical or electrical trade qualification
  • A tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (highly regarded)
  • Proven experience with heavy mobile equipment (HME) maintenance in an open cut mining environment
  • Exposure to maintenance management systems (experience with Pulse is advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business
