Operational since 1999 Bengalla is in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley and supplies international markets with approximately 13 Mtpa.
Bengalla is an open cut coal mine offering a residential lifestyle. The development consent for the operation provides the ability to mine through to 2039. The Opportunity
Due to recent internal movement we are seeking a talented and motivated Reliability Engineer to join our Asset Management team. Reporting to the Reliability Specialist you will be a key driver in enhancing the performance of our mobile equipment fleet. Leveraging data insights and sound engineering principles you will lead efforts to improve equipment reliability minimise downtime and embed a proactive approach to asset reliability across the operation.
This is a MondayFriday residential-based position offering a lifestyle-friendly work arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to a stable and respected mining operation.
Responsibilities
- Analyse equipment performance and data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination (DE) investigations
- Develop and optimise asset strategies including condition monitoring and life cycle plans
- Support the planning and execution of maintenance shutdowns and component replacements
- Provide engineering support to the Off-Site Repairs (OSR) team including repair scope development and review
- Collaborate with Maintenance Operations OEMs and specialist contractors to implement sustainable solutions
- Champion reliability best practice and build capability across the business
Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A mechanical or electrical trade qualification
- A tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (highly regarded)
- Proven experience with heavy mobile equipment (HME) maintenance in an open cut mining environment
- Exposure to maintenance management systems (experience with Pulse is advantageous but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business
