The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive enrollment advising to new and returning Minneapolis College students who come into or contact Student Services for assistance in the areas of registration financial aid bills and payments and student records. This position will focus specifically on resolving barriers that prevent students from enrolling in the college or returning to the college after an absence. This position will also respond to student inquiries interpreting college policies and procedures and provide guidance on next steps.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Providing high quality enrollment advising to incoming and prospective students to resolve barriers and help students navigate college policies and procedures to ensure students feel welcomed and are prepared to begin and persist in their first term.
Respond to in-person telephone and electronic inquiries from internal and external clients providing general policy procedural and eligibility information regarding admissions bills and payments financial aid registration and student records. Provide general guidance and referral on college policy and procedures for other campus services.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
Salary Range:
MNSCU Academic 1 Professional: $23.63 - $34.18 / $49339 - $71368 annually
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or experience with advising financial aid student enrollment or higher education.
Advanced knowledge/experience with using MS office email internet and database products
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including listening speaking writing the ability to work with diverse populations in a positive courteous and helpful manner.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving skills sufficient to identify and clarify problems or issues to prepare and execute possible solutions under the direction of a supervisor
Demonstrate an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency incorporate culturally responsive practices and actively engage in anti-Racism professional development learning opportunities.
Other Requirements
Current and former employees must be in good standing in Minneapolis College for consideration.
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
Mondays - Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Telework (Yes/No)
This position may be eligible for partial telework per the Minneapolis Colleges Telework Guidelines.
