Job Title: IBM Sterling OMS Senior Developer
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IBM Sterling Technical Specialist with IBM Sterling OMS experience to join our team. As an IBM Sterling OMS Technical Specialist you will be responsible for the implementation customization development and support of IBM Sterling solutions for our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and optimization of IBM Sterling OMS Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and customization of IBM Sterling OMS and Java based solutions for clients ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze business requirements translating them into system configurations and customizations.
- Configure and customize IBM Sterling OMS and Java based custom applications software to meet specific client needs including menu layouts pricing promotions and integrations with other systems.
- Conduct system testing and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy and functionality of IBM Sterling OMS solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IBM Sterling OMS software providing timely and effective support to clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers project managers and business analysts to ensure seamless integration of IBM Sterling with other systems and processes.
- Provide training and support to end-users on IBM Sterling functionality ensuring smooth adoption and utilization of the system.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in point of sale technology providing recommendations for system enhancements and improvements
- Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation related to IBM Sterling and custom java app configurations processes and procedures.
- Participate in project planning and execution ensuring successful implementation and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members sharing knowledge and best practices.
Required Skills:
- IBM Sterling Order Management with min of 2 years hands-on experience (Sterling 9.1)
- IBM Sterling Fulfillment Solutions with min of 2 years hands-on experience in design configuration product extensions and integrations with external systems synchronous using SOAP webservices and asynchronous using JMS Queues
- IBM Sterling Global Inventory Visibility - min 2 years hands-on experience
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in custom database extn user exits agents and building Web Services
- Min 2 years of development experience in XML and DOM parser
- Min 2 years of development experience in building web applications
- Min 2 years of development experience in building UI using Eclipse RCP (SWT)
- Experience building Stored Procedures and SQL functions
- Experience with distributed version control system
- Experience with system integrations using JMS and web services (SOAP)
- Experience with issue tracking tools such as Jira
- Experience and understanding of application performance tuning
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with IBM Sterling OMS software including configuration customization development and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or C for system customizations and integrations
- Understanding of retail industry processes and point of sale operations.
- Familiarity with hardware components and peripherals used in point-of-sale systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge testing enhancement.
- Knowledge of IBM Retail Integration Framework (RIF) for system integrations
- Familiarity with WebLogic Application Server for deployment and management of IBM POS solutions
- Understanding of PCI compliance and security standards for point-of-sale systems
- Certification in IBM Sterling or other relevant retail technology certifications
