Job Description Summary
The Video Editor is responsible for overseeing the creation production and editing of the newspapers video content. This role involves managing the entire video production process from conceptualization interviewing recording editing and publication.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: Develop and Produce Video Content: Collaborate with the editorial team to plan and develop video content that aligns with the paper. Record edit and produce videos for digital and social media. Manage the scheduling and logistics of video recording. Write scripts and prepare interview questions for interview if applicable. Work with Editorial Team: Attend weekly staff and editorial board meetings. Ensure High-Quality Production: Edit and mix recordings ensuring clarity and flow. Publish and Promote Videos: Manage the distribution of videos on various platforms (e.g. YouTube Instagram Reels TikTok website etc.). Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to create promotional materials. Develop strategies for increasing newspaper visibility and audience engagement.
Required Qualifications
Background in video production. Ability to maintain professionalism and uphold ethical reporting standards.
