Position Summary and Purpose:The Vice President of Engineering and Quality is a strategic executive leadership role responsible for driving innovation process excellence and product integrity at Cincinnati Incorporated. This position oversees all engineering and quality functions ensuring alignment with the companys long-term business objectives customer expectations and industry standards. The Vice President will lead the development of new products from concept through production manage cross-functional engineering initiatives and implement quality systems that promote continuous improvement. This role is also accountable for fostering a high-performance culture enhancing collaboration across departments and strengthening CIs commitment to delivering exceptional products and services. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and plays a critical role in shaping the future of CIs engineering capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
ENGINEERING:
- Create long-range Engineering Operating and Manufacturing goals specific to CIs needs
- Collaborate with the executive committee to determine business strategy for new products and features
- Develop new products based on multi-year new product development roadmap
- Manage sustaining engineering to support existing products internally and in the field
- Drive new product development process ensuringon-time on budget and at target cost launch
- Continuously improve new product development process to reduce lead-time and cost
- Design strategies for future development projects based on CIs overall objectives and resources
- Foster a high-performance solution-oriented culture focused on design behavior.
- Develop future engineering leadership and technology bench strength
- Contribute and influence strategic direction for senior leadership using informal and formal communication
QUALITY:
- Lead Company quality activities to drive in-process quality and capability to meet customer expectations
- Implement plans in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction
- Drive utilization of design for quality tools such as DFMEA and PFMEA
- Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the Company meets and exceeds expectations.
- Stay current with latest quality management best practices and concepts
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field is required
- MBA or Masters in a technical field is preferred
- At least 20 years of progressive experience in a related technical field
- Experience in facilitating Continuous Improvement activities

- Industry relevant production/process experience
- Highly motivated very detailed and service oriented with a proven track record
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Strong communicator with a positive attitude

- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure success
- Skilled in collecting analyzing and interpreting data
- Team player with exceptional oral written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong data analytics background with tools like excel and BI Tools
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency
- Fosters a culture of learning and improvement
- Professional courteous positive and respectful; leads by example and knows how to handle conflict
- Strong machining and fabrication background preferably in a high-mix low-volume production environment
- High energy level (preferred)
Physical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this office-based position.
While the role primarily operates in a professional office setting it requires frequent trips to the manufacturing floor to attend meetings collaborate with production teams and observe processes. During these visits the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts moderate noise levels and other typical manufacturing conditions.
The employee is regularly required to sit stand walk and use hands to operate office equipment such as computers phones and printers. Occasional bending reaching or lifting of light objects (up to 25 lbs.) may be necessary. Visual acuity is required for reading documents analyzing data and working on a computer. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when on the production floor as dictated by company safety policies.
