The Sports Editor is responsible for overseeing the coverage of all sports-related content including campus sports intramural activities and significant local and national sports events. This role involves planning assigning writing and editing articles as well as managing a team of sports writers.

Job Responsibilities: Content Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive content strategy for the sports section focusing on campus and broader sports events. Plan and manage the editorial calendar for the sports section. Stay informed about sports events trends and news. Attend weekly staff and editorial board meetings. Editorial Oversight: Outsource sports-related articles videos highlights and other content from CSBN Chapman News students etc. Write sports articles. 1 story per week unless otherwise communicated. Oversee Sports Coverage: Ensure coverage of all major campus sports events including games tournaments and athlete profiles. Coordinate live coverage and reporting of significant sports events. Develop in-depth features and investigative pieces on relevant sports topics. Multimedia Elements: Collaborate with multimedia teams to incorporate visuals videos and interactive elements into sports content. Coordinate with social media and digital teams to promote sports stories and engage with the audience online.
Required Qualifications
Background in journalism. Ability to maintain professionalism and uphold ethical reporting standards.
