Department Purpose

In 2021 Next partnered with Bath & Body Works to become the UKs sole destination for shopping Americas favourite fragrances across bath body and home fragrance products. Since launching as an online business 4 years ago we have rapidly grown and now have 50 stores across the UK and Ireland with plans to continue expanding our store portfolio. We join Bath & Body Works in their mission to make the world a bright happier place through the power of fragrance.

About the Job

Without our Merchandisers there would be no product in our stores and on our website! The Next Beauty Merchandising team ensures that we have the right products in the right place at the right time and in the right quantities.This role is responsible for maximising the profitability of each line working closely with the buying team and external brand partners to plan and build our fabulous product ranges.

You will be

• Responsible for the smooth-running day to day of the Merchandising department
• Forecasting sales and stock levels to achieve sales plans and margin/profit targets for the department
• Monitoring the department performance and identifying opportunities as well as potential risk/loss
• Responsible for ensuring intake targets are achieved and ensuring launch products are delivered in a timely manner.
• Presenting weekly trade calls to the Bath and Body Works US team
• Developing a strong understanding of product performance across the various channels and understand how to impact performance.
• Proposing trade drivers in the form of bundles boxes and gifts with purchase to drive sales
• Contributing to department strategy demonstrating an ability to recognise innovative ideas and solutions which have a commercial gain.
• Working closely with several internal teams including supply chain branch merch and retail
• Supporting Merchandise Assistant with managing incoming intake label ordering and hitting intake forecasts
• Conducting store visits and assisting with store openings feeding back on any gaps in stock and opportunities within store
• Supporting Merchandiser with preparing the stock package for new store launches
• Developing your Merchandise Assistant through their development programme by identifying and setting measurable objectives and developing a flexible management style as appropriate to their needs.

Your Talent

• Experience operating at an Assistant Merchandiser level within the beauty or fashion and apparel industry. Ideally working within a branded product department
• Passionate about developing your career further in merchandising
• Experience of planning weekly sales stock and intake management
• Confident in participating in weekly trade meetings
• Outstanding ability to build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
• An inspirational manager with the ability to develop your Merchandise Assistant
• For our Senior Assistant Merchandiser opportunities you will need to demonstrate significant previous experience managing your own category and performance
