Job Description

Life Saving Victoria is Victorias peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations the Royal Life Saving Society Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.

Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since 1904. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing.

Our volunteers members employees and partners work together with communities educational institutions government agencies businesses and the broader aquatic industry to Save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.

Coordinator Membership Engagement

We have an exciting opportunity to join our member engagement team and contribute towards our member and volunteer teams across Victoria.

Located at our Port Melbourne Head Office and reporting into the Senior Manager ofParticipation and Member Capabilitythis 0.8 FTE part time positionis responsible for coordinating the administration projects programs and content for both the Membership and Leadership team and the broader Member Engagement team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service and supporting both the department and its members in their daily activities.

The role has a number of internal and external stakeholders and requires excellent management and proactive engagement with others. Tasks include:

  • Facilitating supportingand assisting volunteer members in designated Executive roles including the council executive and panels.

  • Database administration maintaining contact and distribution lists coordinating the collation and development reports maintaining key statistical data ensuring information is available and communicated to relevant stakeholders in timely and consistent manner.

  • Supporting member enquiries including department emails and phone calls in atimely manner and proactively identifying key information for members through frequently asked questions.

  • Supporting the development and production of Member Engagement resources including event information handbooks program administration and other relevant resources.

  • Assisting with program and event planning delivery and information distribution to members prior during and post event and providing clubs and members with information and support as required.

  • Coordinating the member platform administration and content management working with the broader volunteer facing areas to ensure relevant up to data and consistent messaging. Be the key contact for platform support and information.

Who are you

You are experienced in administration and the operational delivery or programs and events with strong communication skills who can be self-sufficient. You are an exceptional collaborator who is comfortable communicating at all levels. You have excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.

Your enthusiastic approachable and can-do attitude will be the basis of your success in this role.

  • At least 3 years experience supporting the administrative and operational delivery of programs and events with limited supervision in a multi-tasking environment.

  • Experience coordinating projects requiring excellent stakeholder management customer contact skills (including handling difficult customer calls and/or complaints) problem solving ability to deliver verbal directives and the ability to work to deadlines and within budgets.

  • Excellent people and negotiation skills with high level communication and literacy skills including problem solving and ability to deliver verbal directives.

  • Self-starter with excellent project support skills.

  • High level data processing skills with accuracy and speed.

  • Good understanding of social media and content management.

  • Demonstrated ability in the use of MS Office Suite in particular mail merge document design and web forms experience using canva advantageous understanding of social media and website technology.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and after hours.

  • Must have or be able to obtain an employee Working with Children Check.
