Job Description

Were looking for a Manager Commercial Negotiations & Projects for our Venture Station A to help scale clean energy adoption at Station A. This is a high-impact high-ownership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced early-stage environment and enjoys negotiating complex contracts coordinating across disciplines and unlocking scalable financeable project structures in the C&I renewable energy space.

Our distributed team is made up of climate-minded technologists strategists and operators committed to making climate action a no-brainer for everyone. We combine proprietary software with industry expertise to guide commercial real estate owners and operators through their decarbonization journey - from analyzing their portfolio to sourcing competitive clean energy bids in our marketplace.

Tasks

As the Manager Commercial Negotiations & Projects youll build and lead our commercial contracting program from the ground up. Youll shape project outcomes align stakeholders and accelerate the clean energy transition by:

  • Lead High-Stakes Negotiations: Own the full contract lifecycle - including drafting redlining stakeholder alignment and execution. Youll take point on Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) Community Solar Leases Interconnection Agreements and Turnkey EPC & O&M contracts.
  • Translate Complexity Into Clarity: Bridge legal financial and technical requirements to craft terms that are clear financeable and aligned with both customer and provider priorities.
  • Orchestrate Project Execution: Serve as the connective tissue across teamsensuring timelines are met deliverables are aligned and communication flows smoothly between internal stakeholders customers utilities and providers.
  • Champion the Customer Perspective: Leverage your understanding of project economics tax equity site-level risk and real estate dynamics to advocate for customer value in every commercial conversation.
  • Build for Scale: Continuously improve our contract templates negotiation playbooks and internal workflows. Youll identify patterns remove friction and lay the foundation for a scalable team-ready function.

Compensation & Transparency

We believe in pay transparency. The annual base salary for this role is $130k - $170k with performance-based annual bonus and stock options. Learn more about our benefits

Requirements

Were looking for someone who can own this function and hit the ground running. If you bring experience in several of the areas below - and are excited to build a critical function from scratch - wed love to hear from you.

  • Extensive experience (typically 610 years) negotiating and managing commercial contracts ideally in solar energy storage or infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success leading negotiations for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) community solar leases and interconnection agreements for commercial-scale projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of tax equity structures third-party ownership models (e.g. partnership flip sale-leaseback) and the financial drivers that shape project success (IRR NPV customer savings).
  • Experience working with commercial real estate portfolios including multi-tenant buildings with an understanding of rooftop site control challenges structural reviews and roof warranties.
  • Deep understanding of utility interconnection processes for distributed generation including grid export rules non-export configurations and navigating approvals with utilities inspectors and AHJs.
  • Skilled at cross-functional collaboration with legal finance sales and engineering teams - bringing clarity to complex commercial negotiations.
  • Highly organized and self-directed with a track record of thriving in remote fast-moving environments with evolving priorities.
  • Bonus: Background in project development clean energy finance or legal work (e.g. JD paralegal or in-house counsel) related to energy or commercial real estate.

Location & Travel

  • We prefer candidates based in San Francisco Los Angeles Boston or New York to align with our customer footprint and occasional in-person collaboration.
  • Travel is minimal - typically 24 onsite visits per year with optional co-working days or team meetups depending on your location and team needs.
