Position SummaryWe are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to uphold Capitol Finishes excellence at every stage of our decking installation projects. This role is vital in ensuring strict compliance with NAVSEA standards OSHA maritime safety protocols and internal quality benchmarks from material procurement through final inspection on U.S. Navy ships.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented highly organized and thrives in dynamic environments with a focus on operational precision and regulatory compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and maintain quality control procedures across all marine decking projects.
Participate in procurement to ensure materials meet type color and quantity specifications.
Conduct pre-assignment job site walk-throughs to verify accurate measurements material readiness and site conditions.
Perform daily on-site inspections to ensure:
Clean organized and hazard-free work environments
Full adherence to NAVSEA Standard Items 009-26 and 009-32
Compliance with OSHA 10-Hour Maritime safety standards
Maintain complete accurate documentation of all quality assurance activities and inspections.
Collaborate with project managers production staff and safety personnel to address quality issues and implement process improvements.
Use computer tools for quality tracking inspection logs and reporting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic quality documentation systems.
High attention to detail with ability to interpret and apply technical standards and specifications.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and enforce quality compliance across teams.
Bachelors degree in Engineering Quality Assurance or a related technical field.
NBPI Certification (National Association of Corrosion Engineers / Naval Basic Paint Inspector)
Marine Chemist Compliant knowledge (must understand operations within marine safety standards including confined spaces)
OSHA 10-Hour Maritime Certification
Experience working on U.S. Navy vessels or in shipyard environments.
Knowledge of marine decking materials coatings and installation practices.
Background in quality assurance in military defense or maritime sectors.
