Description
A Platform Security Architect focuses on designing implementing and maintaining the security of a specific platform such as cloud services mobile devices or IoT devices.
Basic Functions:
1. Enhance security team accomplishments and competencies by planning the delivery of solutions and answering technical questions.
2. Plans research and designs security architecture for IT/SCADA/OT systems.
3. Develops reviews and approves installation requirements for LANs WANs VPNs firewalls routers and related network devices.
4. Determines security protocols by evaluating business strategies and requirements.
5. Responds to and investigates security incidents and provides through post-event analyses.
6. Develops project timelines for ongoing system upgrades.
7. Reviews system security measures and implements necessary enhancements.
8. Conducts regular tests and monitoring of Metro Enterprise network security and integration with OT network.
9. Verifies security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
10. Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards participating in educational opportunities reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations.
11. SCADA platform and network security.
a. Design a network meeting the functional and performance requirements of the SCADA system being supplied by third party vendors and the security requirements of Metro ITS and Wayside Systems.
b. Prepare procurement specifications for the workstations servers network equipment and supporting appliances (equipment purchase and logistics by others).
c. Provide the initial network configuration.
d. Prepare installation and system integration test plan and procedures.
e. Oversee installation and testing.
f. Prepare training materials specifically for network security primer monitoring network health and security Configuration Management backup and restore.
g. Prepare and provide specific training to third party vendors for the integration of their SCADA system on the Metro provided SCADA network.
h. Assist with the establishment of a Control system Security Program in line with
industrys best practices and Metro IT policy and standards.
i. Attend related meetings as requested by Metro.
j. Deliverables include System documentation as requested response to technical problems SCADA network design and implementation technical documents and Training documentation.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
1. 5 years of recent experience supporting state of the art secure network design for companies providing mission critical services.
2. 10 years of experience with system operations and administration of networks and network security for companies providing mission critical services.
Skills
1. Knowledge of latest platform security improvement to meet PCI audits (Palo Alto GigaStor Cisco NetMRI).
