Job Description

Engineer Chennai

We are seeking a skilled and proactive GCP Engineer to provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. In this role you will act as a subject matter expert handling escalated technical issues improving system reliability and assisting with the implementation and maintenance of GCP-based solutions.
Youll work closely with DevOps development and security teams to ensure performance availability scalability and cloud environment security.

Responsibilities:

Level 2 Support:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex incidents and service requests related to GCP services (Compute Engine Cloud Storage VPC IAM GKE etc.).
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure using tools like Stackdriver Cloud Monitoring or third-party solutions (e.g. Datadog Prometheus).
  • Handle routine configuration patching and automation tasks using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Deployment Manager etc.).
  • Maintain cloud operational documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to Level 3 or engineering teams with detailed diagnostics

Level 3 Support:

  • Act as an escalation point for critical high-impact incidents involving cloud infrastructure networking and services.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis and root cause investigations of outages or performance issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement permanent fixes and architectural improvements.
  • Optimize resource usage and costs via recommendations and implementation of automation/scheduling strategies.
  • Contribute to security compliance and access control reviews and remediations

Qualifications :

  • 3 years of hands-on experience managing infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficient in core GCP services: Compute Engine Cloud Functions Cloud Run GKE VPC IAM Cloud SQL BigQuery etc.
  • Experience with scripting (Python Bash) and automation tools (Terraform Ansible etc.).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (firewalls load balancers VPNs DNS).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
  • Excellent troubleshooting analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect or GCP DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Experience supporting 24x7 production environments and participating in on-call rotations.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes Istio or service mesh frameworks.
  • Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
  • Exposure to GCP Organizational Policies

Soft Skills:

  • Strong ownership mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment.
