Position Summary Under general supervision Med-Surg Tele nurses deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment planning intervention implementation and evaluation in accordance with established philosophy. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patients significant others and family while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. The nature of the direction and supervision required for this position varies by State and job setting. Med-Surge Tele Nurses provide care for primarily adult patients before and after surgical procedures; they also attend to those who are being treated with pharmaceuticals to manage illness. Due to the broad range of medical conditions Med/Surge Tele Nurses will encounter they must be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions.
Essential Functions -Knows/conforms to the Texas Nursing Practice Act and the Boards rules and regulations as well as all Federal State or local laws rules or regulations. -Provide without discrimination nursing services regardless of age disability economic status gender national origin and race religion or health problems of the patients service. -Responsible for the total nursing care assessment planning implementation and evaluation of each assigned patient. -Plans provides evaluates and documents nursing care discharge planning and teaching. -Assures the plan is carried out and provided in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel. -Educates patients family or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care. -Functions as charge nurse when required. -Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled. -Performs other duties as assigned. -Maintain composure during stressful situations. -Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience -Two years of inpatient nursing experience preferred.
Education -Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas required. -BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date required.
