Primary Purpose
The Apparel Merchandiser is responsible for creating and managing product assortments that align with brand vision market trends and customer preferences. This role involves product planning supplier coordination inventory management and monitoring sales performance to optimize assortments.
Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations the Apparel Merchandiser works closely with design production and sales teams to develop apparel collections that drive brand growth and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Product Planning and Development: Conduct market research to understand current fashion trends target customer preferences and competitor activities.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory turnover rates and adjust as needed to meet sales targets.
Visual Merchandising
Create visual merchandising plans to display products effectively in stores ensuring a positive shopping experience and brand consistency.
Work with the retail team to implement merchandising strategies that drive foot traffic and increase sales.
Prepare seasonal or thematic displays to highlight new collections and promote high- demand products.
Sales and Performance Analysis
Monitor weekly and monthly sales data to understand product performance and customer preferences.
Identify best-sellers and slow-movers making recommendations for promotions markdowns or reordering.
Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders suggesting improvements to maximize sales.
Collaboration and Communication
Act as a liaison between departments including design production and retail to ensure alignment on product strategies and timelines.
Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and in-store events for new product launches.
Communicate regularly with retail staff to gather customer feedback and insights on product reception
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Comprehensive knowledge of the products Country Supplier sells.
Perform daily cleaning such as but not limited to vacuuming replacing full trashes with new trash bags and sweeping.
Other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising Business Marketing or a related field preferred.
Typically 2-5 years of experience in merchandising retail or product management within the apparel industry.
Strong analytical abilities to interpret sales data trends and market research.
An eye for fashion trends and aesthetics to develop appealing product lines and displays.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams and external vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel inventory management systems and possibly fashion-specific software (such as PLM software).
