Position Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and coordinatingdailymulti-functional operations across multiple shifts within the Distribution Center (DC). This role ensures optimal execution of inbound and outbound workflows continuous process improvement and alignment of daily operations with broader strategic goals. The Operations Manager serves as a key leadership role fostering a culture of accountability safety service and results.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Coordinate and monitor multiple shifts and departments to plan and execute daily/weekly work plans to support DC Operations.
Ensure execution of standard operating procedures (SOPs) productivity goals and quality benchmarks across departments and shifts.
Develop and implement short- and medium-term operational plans aligned withcompany goals.
Team Development & Performance Management
Directly manage a workforce of supervisorsand indirectly manageleads and up to400 hourly associates.
Conduct regular performance reviews mentor leadership talent and build bench strength within the DC organization.
Partner with Human Resources to maintain optimal staffing levels and support recruiting and retention efforts.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
Identify process gaps and lead initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency reduce costs and enhance service performance.
Recommend and implement process improvements.
Operations & Compliance
Promote and enforce a culture of safety and compliance with OSHA and internal safety policies.
Ensure accurate inventory management and protection of company assets.
Assist with maintaining the accuracy and integrity of associate records including but not limited to time and attendance data and personal information.
Adhere to applicable wage and hour laws. Accurately records time worked according to SLT Policy.
Models and ensures all Sur La Table policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are communicated effectively to associates maintained and consistently followed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with employees customers and vendors.
Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
Ability to regularly lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 35 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
Ability to grab reach push pull bend stoop kneel twist and crouch in order to retrieve and/or replenish merchandise
Ability to ascend and descend stairs in order to retrieve and/or move merchandise
Must be willing to work across all shifts including weekends and holidays as business needs require. During Peak Season coverage across 2nd and 3rd shift will be required.
Must be able to work in a physical warehouse environment that may include noise temperature fluctuations and mobile equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of5-7years of progressive supervisory management experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
Demonstrated ability to lead large teams in high-volumemulti-shiftdeadline-driven environments.
Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to influence change and drive measurable results.
