Job Description

Position: Estimator

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans evaluating labor and material costs and preparing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical construction and installation projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical systems strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers engineers and clients to ensure accurate project cost forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

Review blueprints specifications and related documents to determine scope of work and project requirements.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials labor and equipment.
Identify potential risks inconsistencies and cost-saving opportunities in project plans.
Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and availability information.
Create and present comprehensive bid proposals and reports to internal stakeholders or clients.
Work closely with project managers and engineers to support budgeting scheduling and planning.
Track and manage changes in project scope to adjust estimates accordingly.
Assist with post-bid reviews and project hand-offs to ensure a smooth transition from estimation to execution.
Job Requirements:

Proven experience as an Estimator in the electrical or construction industry (minimum 25 years preferred).
Strong knowledge of electrical systems codes and construction practices.
Proficiency in estimation software (e.g. Accubid Bluebeam PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret technical documents drawings and specifications.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
