Position Summary
Ballinger is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy architecture student for a full-time internship. This role is a unique opportunity to be part of our Digital Practice group on a dedicated data project focused on the deep analysis of our firms past projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data-driven design automation and for exploring new ways to represent architectural information. This internship will play a crucial role in benchmarking our designs and uncovering insights that will inform the future work of the firm.
Responsibilities
Mine and analyze data from our extensive portfolio of completed buildings including project metrics performance data and design specifications.
Develop and implement methodologies for benchmarking our designs against internal and industry standards.
Utilize data visualization techniques to create compelling and insightful representations of your findings for project teams and firm leadership.
Collaborate with our design technology and project teams to develop automated workflows for data collection and analysis.
Contribute to the development of a firm-wide database of architectural knowledge and best practices.
Research and present emerging technologies and methodologies in data-driven design and architectural analytics.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited architecture program (Bachelors or Masters).
A strong interest in the technological side of architecture with a portfolio that demonstrates an aptitude for computational design data analysis or similar technical skills.
Proficiency in Revit is required.
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel relational databases Power BI Tableau or similar platforms is desirable
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python would be a significant advantage.
Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
A proactive and curious mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
