Job Description

Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and the Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classificationexists is to effectively manage the fiscal and human resources of multipledepartments while ensuring that analytical and managerial support is providedto department heads. The work responsibilities include preparing a consolidatedcabinet-level or multiple-department operational budget overseeing theprocurement of services purchasing equipment and supplies and efficientlymanaging payroll and personnel actions while supervising two or more this position may serve as the departments liaison to thelegislative body and city council effectively manage the financial accountingof enterprise funds and proactively seek and administer grants to supportdepartmental initiatives. This classification is distinguished from theAdministrative Officer due to its extensive range of administrative duties thecomplexity and volume of budgets managed and the diverse range of employeeswithin the department. The incumbent in this position is instrumental inoverseeing cabinet-level departmental budgets making strategic purchasingdecisions and managing personnel transactions. Typically this employeereports directly to a department head or assistant department head.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in business administrationpublic administration or a closely related field and four (4) years of budgetmanagement experience in purchasing payroll administration or grants researchand management including two (2) years of supervisory experience.

NOTE: Qualifying education training andexperience that provide the requisite knowledge skills and abilities toperform the job will be considered.

Kind of Examination
