SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under general direction of the Assistant Directors of Special Education or the Building Administrator a social worker provides services that enable special education students whose behavior with respect to frequency intensity and duration over time significantly impacts their educational success and/or that of others. This position also works in conjunction with the students school team to assist the students in benefiting from specially designed programs and an overall educational experience/process.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed a regular elementary or secondary school building. Exposure to normal amounts of dust and fumes from office machines and occasional loud noises. Ability to use arms hands and fingers; lift 20 pounds and push/pull 40 pounds; and to sit for prolonged periods of time are all required. The employee is required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons. Must be able to talk and use fingers hands and arms and to listen carefully and focus while filtering out normal office noise. May involve negotiating steps ramps uneven surfaces and going outdoors in all types of weather to reach some classrooms or other buildings. Tolerance of occasional loud noises and ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time are required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employees responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.

Retirement and Deferred Compensation
Eligible employees are required to be a member of the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems Plan. For eligibility information check on the link to theDepartment of Retirement Systems web site.
Employees also have the ability to participate in tax deferred 403(b) and 457 Deferred Compensation Plans (DCP). These are supplemental retirement savings programs that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.

*Clover Park School District total possible pay consists of base salary plus the following:
Building Centered Responsibility - 5 days
District Centered Responsibility - 2.5 days
Event Responsibility - 1 day
Attendance required for compensation of responsibility pay (building-centered district-centered and event).
