Position Description for Superintendent of Schools Warren County Public Schools Front Royal Virginia
The Warren County School Board in Front Royal Virginia is seeking a highly qualified and experienced visionary transparent educational leader to serve as the Superintendent of Warren County Public Schools (WCPS). The results-oriented Superintendent will serve as a proven forward thinking student-oriented data-driven instructional leader who is prepared to continue moving WCPS toward instructional excellence and high academic achievement while developing strong relationships throughout the WCPS candidate should be highly detail-oriented and demonstrate consistent follow-through and must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
Warren County Public Schools is composed of eleven schools including five elementary schools two middle schools two high schools a technical center and a non-traditional school.
McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. Executive Recruitment and Development is engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the School Board in identifying and screening the candidates.

The Qualifications
The candidate must be a visionary and have the background skills and abilities essential to lead a premier county school division. The candidate will possess experience as a teacher principal and district level administrator in a comparable district. Possession of a doctorate or equivalent preferred. Virginia Superintendent certification or eligibility for it is required. The Warren County School Board is seeking a candidate who:

Leverages deep knowledge of the student body and local community to shape a responsive and inclusive vision for Warren County Public Schools. Keeps stakeholders informed and engaged through transparent data-driven communication.

Demonstrates strong financial acumen with a track record of strategic student-focused budgeting. Aligns fiscal decisions with long-term district priorities to ensure resources are maximized in support of student success.
- Develops and Retains Top Talent
Prioritizes teacher recruitment professional growth and staff retention. Celebrates excellence and fosters a culture of accountability by setting high expectations for principals educators and district leaders alike.
- Models Integrity and Resilience
Leads with honesty humility empathy and fairness. Maintains poise and confidence under pressure responding to criticism and crisis with grace while always upholding the highest ethical standards.
Salary: Regionally competitive salary based upon experience and qualifications

- School Board selects finalists to interview: Late September/Early October
- Finalist Interviews with the School Board: Late October 2025
- Selection of new Superintendent: Late October 2025
