Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Medical Staff Coordinator.
As a Medical Staff Coordinator at MercyOne you will provide leadership organize and coordinate support services for Medical Staff Services. Coordinates and has oversight for the credentialing privileging and quality improvement activities of the medical staff including professional practice evaluations both ongoing and focused. Maintains ongoing compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies. Coordinates communication of information between medical staff departments and administration. Regularly performs complex and sensitive administrative tasks using discretion and judgment. Assignments are prioritized and characterized by need requiring a considerable amount of efficiency and initiative.
- Establishes and maintains positive professional communications with the Medical Staff Administration nursing staff all hospital departments and related health agencies.
- Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.
- Demonstrates compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
- Performs research and obtains information regarding all standards and requirements related to medical staff issues.
- Maintains a current master copy of and is knowledgeable of Medical Staff Bylaws Rules and Regulations.
- Coordinates the medical staff meetings including scheduling meeting reminders agenda packets and recording and processing of meeting minutes.
- Assures overall continuity of medical staff activities.
- Coordinates supportive services to the medical staff officers in fulfilling the responsibilities of their offices.
- Coordinates the credentialing process: mailing and preparation of Medical staff applications appointments reappointments and preparation of ongoing performance evaluations;
- Maintains current confidential credential and appropriate review files on all medical staff and allied health members.
- Manages and processes associated correspondence on medical staff and allied health members.
- Maintains current Medical Staff Medical Staff Department/Committee membership roster and other rosters as required.
- Coordinates and schedules medical staff meetings and maintain a master calendar for medical staff meetings and the proper notification to hospital departments of such meeting needs and activities.
- Provides clerical oversight related to the filing maintenance and retrieval of information relevant to all aspects of the responsibilities.
- Provides assistance to Administration and other support services and duties as may be requested.
- Maintains and distributes reports/documents/database/spreadsheets.
- Maintains physician/provider call schedule.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal State and local laws and regulations Trinity Healths Organizational Integrity Program Standards of Conduct as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest ethical and professional behavior.

General Requirements:
- Certified Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) certification preferred or within 4 years.
- Three to five years experience in working with leaders and/or physicians.
- Skill and proficiency in applying principles concepts and techniques which are central to working with the medical staff.
- Demonstrates understanding of the medical staff organization responsibilities and its related bylaws rules/regulations that govern the organization.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship with the medical staff leadership providing consultative assistance and other delegated support as necessary for them to fulfill their obligations.
- Requires ability to exercise a high level of discretion and independent judgment.
- Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) required.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
- Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high level of stress.
- Must be knowledgeable of medical technology.
- Organizational ability willing to work flexible hours good communication skills tactful and diplomatic.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy mission and vision goals and values of Trinity Health.
Education:
- Associates degree in an appropriate field Bachelors preferred.
