Location Requirements
DCYs core hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 8:00am to 5:00pm however daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across DCY divisions. Employees may begin as early as 7:00am & as late as 9:00am based on supervisory approval. This position performs work on-site daily at DCYs office space.
All answers to the supplemental questions must be supported by the work experience/education provided on your civil service application. Attachments will not be considered as part of your application.
Selection devices such as a structured interview proficiency instrument and/or assessment may be required for this position. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency with a passing score of applicable selection device to be considered for this position. Regardless of a passing or failing score all results will be maintained for 6 months. Applicant with a passing score will be retained and utilized for a 6-month period. Applicant with a failing score in the same position may not re-take the same selection device for a 6-month period.
Travel required as needed. Must provide own transportation or in order to operate a state vehicle you must have a valid drivers license.

For State Automated Child Welfare System (SACWIS) positions requires 24 mos. recent exp. (i.e. within past 5 years) in delivery of human services that included explaining & applying child protective services laws policies & procedures mandated by Ohio Department of Job & Family Services & using SACWIS; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operating personal computer & using Microsoft Office system software that is Microsoft Word Excel Power Point or like software package.
-Or for Support Enforcement Tracking System (SETS) positions requires 24 mos. recent exp. (i.e. within past 5 years) in delivery of human services that included explaining & applying child support laws policies & procedures & child support IV-D regulations mandated by Ohio Department of Job & Family Services & using SETS computer systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operating personal computer & using office system software that is Microsoft Word Excel Power Point or like software package.
-Or for Child Care Information Data System (CCIDS) positions requires 24 mos. recent exp. (i.e. within past 5 years) in delivery of human services that included explaining & applying child care laws policies & procedures mandated by Ohio Department of Job & Family Services & using CCIDS computer systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operating personal computer & using office system software that is Microsoft Word Excel Power Point or like software package.
-Or for Medicaid Information Technology Systems (MITS) positions requires 24 mos. recent exp. (i.e. within past 5 years) in delivery of health services that included explaining & applying health services laws policies & procedures mandated by the Ohio Department of Medicaid & using MITS &/or MMIS; 6 mos. trg. Or 6 mos. exp. in operating personal computer & using Microsoft Office system software that is Microsoft Word Excel Power Point or like software package.
-Or for position involving process automation project for another computer system requires 24 mos. recent exp. (i.e. within past 5 years) in delivery of human services that included explaining & applying laws policies & procedures mandated by Ohio Department of Job & Family Services that are pertinent to business work flows for which computer system is being designed & using human services legacy system such as Ohio Benefits SACWIS SETS or CCIDS; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in operating personal computer & using office system software that is Microsoft Office system software that is Microsoft Word Excel Power Point or like software package. Note: This option requires the employing agency to develop and have position specific minimum qualifications approved by the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.
-Or completion of undergraduate core coursework or 2 years exp. in social or behavioral science pre-medicine business administration public administration human services as defined in series purpose or comparable field (note: this required education and/or experience shall not be applied to satisfy one of the following) AND In addition must meet one of the following whichever is pertinent to process automation project to be assigned: ForOhio Benefits System Positions requires 24 mos. recent exp. Join our team to support and enhance Ohios child welfare information systems. Provide technical assistance ensure compliance with federal and state requirements and help improve data systems for child welfare programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and improving child welfare information systems (e.g. Ohio SACWIS BIC ROM TEAM Ohio).
- Stay updated on policy changes and provide technical support to development teams.
- Interpret federal and state laws to ensure system compliance.
- Review design documents and create test scenarios.
- Conduct system tests and assist with data conversion.
- Develop marketing materials webinars manuals and user support documents.
- Provide help desk support and training to system users (e.g. county agencies juvenile courts).
- Analyze data create reports and assist with federal reporting.
- Identify and resolve system issues and prepare corrective actions.
- Develop and conduct training workshops and seminars.
- Respond to inquiries from government officials and the public.
- Represent the child welfare information systems at meetings and conferences.
- Participate in policy development and revision.
Other Duties:
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
- Compile activity and project status reports.
- Operate a personal computer for various tasks.
- Maintain logs records and files.
Pay Information
Unless required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.
