R77 Elite Talent is proud to be exclusively representing a leading payment gateway provider in their search for a senior business development manager based in Portugal.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in payment gateway solutions for the gaming industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of growing B2B relationships in the payments space particularly with online gaming operators. This role will play a pivotal part in expanding our client base forming strategic PSP partnerships and rolling out tailored payment solutions that drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify approach and secure new business opportunities within the online gaming sector.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) merchants and affiliates within the gaming ecosystem.
  • Understand client needs and offer bespoke payment gateway solutions aligned with regulatory and technical requirements.
  • Lead negotiations and close commercial agreements with new clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Product Compliance Tech) to ensure smooth onboarding and integration of new clients.
  • Stay up to date with market trends competitive landscape and regulatory changes in the gaming and payments industry.
  • Represent the company at industry events expos and networking functions (e.g. ICE SiGMA iGB).

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a business development or sales role within a payment gateway or PSP serving the gaming industry is a must.
  • Strong understanding of payment flows merchant acquiring risk KYC/AML and cross-border payments.
  • Solid network of contacts within the gaming industry (operators PSPs platforms etc.).
  • Results-oriented mindset with excellent negotiation and deal-closing skills.
  • Exceptional communication relationship-building and presentation skills.
