Under general supervision sets up and operates one or more of the following machines: surface / Electrochemical grinder (ECG) lathe mills Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) CNC machine or other machines to perform diversified machining operation on blades vanes shrouds and other components of turbine jet engines.Job Description

Work Environment: The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft. These include LPT Nozzles HPT Nozzles and HPT Hangars. Youll find state of the art technologies in CNC EDM and Coating as well as advanced technology development within our new Tech Lab.
Essential Responsibilities
Work from process instruction sheets drawings and technical documents to ensure product quality.
Utilize general and specialized knowledge to perform tasks that meet all quality assurance standards.
Measure work using scales micrometers calipers dial indicators surface plates and surface testers.
Ensure smooth product flow in the repair process.
Set up adjust verify programming and operate CNC machines to perform complex operations on a diverse line of work.
Maintain close tolerances and surface finishes as required.
Operate CNC machines of various types and brands.
Maintain a clean work area and assist in department housekeeping efforts.
Adhere to all safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out reporting safety concerns using appropriate PPE and following all safety practices.
Assist in training new associates.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Associates college degree in Manufacturing Technology related program; or 24 college credit hours in manufacturing technology related program; or completion of a CNC Operator Apprenticeship with a minimum of 288 hours; or hold a National Institute of Metal Working Skills - CNC Mill Operator CAR certification; or 1 years of prior CNC machine operator experience
Willing and able to work overtime and any shift.
Ability to read write and speak English; interpret and follow written procedures (e.g. Aviation Work Instructions) complete documentation (e.g. routers) and follow verbal instructions.
Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as scales micrometers calipers dial indicators surface plates and surface testers.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
