The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Urology based in scenic Charleston South Carolina is recruiting a Board Eligible / Board Certified fellowship-trained urologist to join our Genitourinary Oncology surgical team. Desirable candidates will have completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology with an emphasis on focal therapy techniques on various platforms or have experience with various techniques in postgraduate positions. In addition to this clinical focus candidates should have research interests and/or experience with focal therapy as demonstrated by presentation publication or funding.
The MUSC Department of Urology delivers the regions most comprehensive range of Urologic services encompassing every Urologic subspecialty with more than 30000 patient encounters each year. The successful candidate will establish a busy comprehensive practice in office procedural and surgical urology utilizing the full spectrum of technology including cryotherapy IRE/Nano Knife Aquablation brachytherapy HIFU and other platforms for focal therapy. This Urologists practice week will consist of an average of 2-3 days in a MUSC clinic setting 1 to 1.5 days in the operating room and 1 day per week at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. The RHJVAMC is a 5-Star facility one of the top 10% of VA facilities nationwide and the 6th fastest growing.
The candidate will have collaborative opportunities at Hollings Cancer Center an NCI-designated Cancer Center as well as MUSCs growing network of regional affiliates in South Carolina. Opportunities exist to participate in established clinical and research programs at all locations as well as room to grow and design new programs. Academic Rank and appointment status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
