Dams Safety NSW is seeking expressions of interest from eligible candidates for appointment by the NSW Minister for Water the Hon. Rose Jackson MLC as an appointed member. Dams Safety NSW is a statutory body corporate constituted by Dams Safety Act 2015 (The Act) which consists of five members appointed by the NSW Minister for Water.
The term of appointment is for an initial period not exceeding four years.
The Dams Safety NSW Board Member contributes expertise and participates in decision making on dam safety regulation and provides strategic guidance and advice to the Minister for Water. The role provides advice to shape the strategic direction of Dams Safety NSW and promote transparency in regulating dam safety in accordance with statutory requirements government policy and the Agencys regulatory policy.
Key aspects of the role include:
Given the skills mix and capability needs as an appointed member we are looking for people with professional expertise qualifications or experience in dam engineering emergency management dam operations and management and/or public safety risk analysis.
Experience in asset management and/or the water sector will be well regarded.
