Pay: $24.00 per hour

Essential Duties:
- Assist licensed clinicians or licensed substance use disorder counselors to conduct screening interviews for inmates with identified substance abuse problems.
- Facilitate recovery-oriented services which supplement actual treatment services as directed by clinical supervisor.
- Ensure documentation of all inmates substance abuse assessments plans and progress notes are documented in participants electronic health records.
- Encourage awareness of substance abuse issues throughout the facility.
- Develop linkages with community resources for substance abuse services including AA/NA.
- Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
- Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must possess Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant status recognized by the Ohio Credentialing Board or other Ohio licensing authority with jurisdiction over professionals authorized to provide counseling. Within 18 months of hire into the position it is required that license must be upgraded to meet the one of the following:
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II)
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDC III) - Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC)
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by the state of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
- Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) by state of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
- Professional Counselor (PC) by state of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by the state of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
- Psychology Assistant as defined in paragraph (B) (14) of Ohio Administrative Rule 3793: 2-1-11.
- One (1) year related experience preferred.
- A valid drivers license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required unless waived by management.
- The selected candidate must be approved for hire by ODRC and must maintain appropriate facility security clearance.
- Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
