Niyam is seeking a motivated Project Manager to join our team. We offer competitive compensation and benefits. Position is hybrid and will require occasional travel for public meetings. This is in support of upcoming projects.
Role and Responsibilities
Provides oversight and management to overall contract operations often involving multiple projects/tasks and groups of personnel at multiple locations. Maintains and manages relationships with senior level management within the client organization. Ensures quality standards and work performance on all task orders and projects; plans organizes and oversees work efforts; assigns resources; manages personnel; and monitors overall project and contract performance. Directs and conducts facilitation and related decision support services for agencies working groups and teams. Utilizes standard project management practices and methodology to reliably produce expected contract outcomes.
- Support and lead aspects of program implementation including but not limited to coordinating monitoring and providing leadership across projects and project related activities.
- Facilitate and lead customer and vendor engagements that include process analysis business case development and resource planning as needed based upon the business objectives.
- Develop in-depth business domain knowledge/skills with the objective of becoming a trusted business partner in the execution of the customers goals and objectives.
- Serve as a primary contact for the project to the business partner building partnerships and trust through understanding of the end-to-end processes; work closely to understand strategic and business intent of projects.
- Work with business leads to implement best practices associated with leading trends within our industry and lines of business within our company.
- Facilitate cross-functional / departmental collaboration to achieve consensus on objectives and solutions as needed for the customer and within our company.
- Perform quality control on deliverables to meet or exceed industry standards.
- Make effective decisions to drive team performance and meet the customers needs.
- Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to provide overarching management of program functions that include program deliverables resource management financial management stakeholder management and performance management.
- Participate and provide support as needed for organic growth strategies proposal and capture efforts and broader organization pursuits.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Coordinates activities of multi-disciplinary staff to ensure project delivery per schedule on budget and within scope parameters
- Works with team members and clients to prepare scopes schedules budgets assumptions and constraints for projects
- Upon approval of individual projects provides oversight for the development of project plans for efficient and successful delivery across the full project lifecycle
- Provides guidance to team members related successful delivery
- Coordinate with other managers to balance workload and staffing needs
- Accountable for compliance with contract requirements including quality and security requirements.
Other essential skills include creative problem-solving organizational skills financial project management skills including earn value management strong production management capabilities and a proven understanding of project management methodologies. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for leadership a strong sense of ownership and natural communication skills.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain public trust
Masters Degree in Engineering Planning Business Communications or related discipline- PMP Certification
At least 10 years of experience of coordination and management of projects- Local to Northern VA area
- Methodologicalexpertise and practical experience supporting large mission centric programs
- Expertise in managing mid to large programs in the defined sector (Homeland Security Federal Public Health and Federal Civilian)
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability in creating guiding and developing high-performance teams
- Client Management: Robust skills in managing relationships with both direct federal customers and prime contract stakeholders
- Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to strategize and resolve complex problems with a focus on creating solutions
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication capabilities both verbal and written. Ability to work as part of a team and develop effective communication strategies amongst the team and with the customer
- Project Management: Strong project delivery skills to manage and implement complex projects for key clients. Develop targets maintain schedules and support budget management
- Ability to learn new ideas and capabilities: Ability to rapidly assimilate new ideas and information through self-driven learning and research
Preferred Skills
- Ability to travel periodically as needed
- Experience managing projects in the government sector
- Industry involvement (e.g. Project Management Institute (PMI) etc.)
