The Building Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the general upkeep repairs and ongoing maintenance of building systems to ensure a clean safe and operational facility environment. This role requires basic handyman capabilities not skilled trades or HVAC expertise and includes emergency response availability.
Conduct routine visual inspections of buildings grounds and systems.
Complete basic maintenance tasks in electrical plumbing lighting and carpentry.
Work closely with the Property Manager to follow preventive maintenance schedules.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests during and after business hours.
Coordinate with contractors and service providers as directed by the Property Manager.
Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal or heating/cooling prep.
Maintain accurate logs and records of work orders and maintenance activities.
Assist with inventory tracking and proper care of tools and equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications a plus.
Minimum 2 years of general building maintenance or handyman experience.
Proficient in basic repairs involving plumbing electrical carpentry and general facilities work.
Ability to identify the scope of tasks and escalate when skilled trades are needed.
Valid driver s license and reliable vehicle for site travel (mileage reimbursed).
Strong communication problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to lift bend and perform physical tasks in varying environmental conditions.
Work Locations: Two primary properties in Silver Spring MD; monthly visits to West Grove PA.
Schedule: Full-time with on-call emergency response availability.
Reports To: Property Manager
Work Environment: May include healthcare or similar commercial environments.
