Job Title: Data Science Lead - Fraud Strategy Practice
Location: Malvern PA / Charlotte NC / Dallas TX
Type: Full-Time
Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Data Science Lead to support a major financial client in developing deploying and enhancing fraud prevention strategies. The ideal candidate combines deep fraud domain expertise with strong hands-on data skills and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of fraud mitigation strategies across key banking products and digital channels
- Optimize detection rules and logic using platforms such as ThreatMetrix LexisNexis or similar tools
- Guide analysts and conduct advanced data exploration to uncover emerging fraud patterns
- Own fraud KPIs like false positive rates detection accuracy and customer experience metrics
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk Product Engineering Fraud Ops and Compliance
- Translate business risk appetite into robust fraud controls
- Present insights and recommendations to leadership and governance forums
- Stay ahead of fraud trends regulatory shifts and incorporate learnings into the strategy roadmap
Required Skills:
- 7 years of experience in fraud strategy or fraud analytics in banking/card domains
- Hands-on expertise with SQL and Python
- Familiarity with big data tools (Hive Spark) and cloud environments (AWS SageMaker)
- Proven track record implementing fraud rules in platforms like ThreatMetrix LexisNexis or Actimize
- Deep understanding of statistical methods and data science principles
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred:
- Experience leading ThreatMetrix rule deployment
- Background in machine learning and predictive modeling
- Exposure to setting fraud risk thresholds and performance plans
- Experience in consulting or advisory roles related to fraud prevention
