Job Description

5 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose
  • Provide a comprehensive high-quality homeless prevention support and advice service to all rough sleepers.
  • Conduct assessments for rough sleepers presenting to the Council to determine owed duties and available housing options.
  • Act as a key worker to allocated rough sleepers ensuring Personal Housing Plans are in place and up-to-date.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
  • Develop specialist knowledge and skills in relation to rough sleepers to deliver a flexible and responsive housing needs service.
  • Focus on engaging rough sleepers into services using an outreach approach and working in close partnership with relevant organizations.
  • Maintain clear accessible and accurate casework and data records and report on performance as required.
  • Signpost or reconnect identified rough sleepers to areas of local connection.
  • Support rough sleepers in maximising their income through applications and encouraging attendance at required appointments.
Essential Experience Required:
  • Experience working with rough sleepers or any other comparable marginalised or vulnerable group.
  • Experience working with a marginalised and vulnerable client group.
  • Experience producing detailed and accurate reports and letters to the public and other professionals.
  • Experience working in a demanding front-line service in a housing environment.
Essential Qualification Required:
  • A good standard of general education.
  • Undertaken some form of housing-related training or alternative housing-related experience.
Additional Information:
  • Working hours: 35 hours per week
  • The role requires an enhanced DBS.
  • The role closes on 11th July 2025 apply ASAP.
