Overview:
Were seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to shape and drive our global infrastructure and reliability strategy across 9500 properties worldwide. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Cloud computing and large-scale enterprise transformation. As part of a highly matrixed organization you will lead cross-functional efforts that touch franchised and managed operations navigate major cloud transitions and optimize vendor relationships with key vendor partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and lead strategy for SRE and cloud modernization across a global hotel portfolio supporting both managed and franchised environments including the incorporation of market research.
- Drive cross-organizational efforts to address critical infrastructure challenges such as end-of-life systems and multi-year cloud migrations.
- Partner with Infrastructure Cloud Procurement Finance Architecture and Engineering teams to develop actionable roadmaps and influence capital planning decisions.
- Lead executive-level communicationscreate compelling narratives board-ready materials and strategic recommendations for CIO CTO and SVP audiences.
- Provide a strategic lens into reliability initiatives identifying high-value opportunities for automation observability and operational efficiency. Deliver insightful and practical solutions and outcomes that tie strategy to operations.
- Align enterprise infrastructure goals with customer-facing digital experiences ensuring resilient foundations for our travel and leisure brands.
- Research into the influence of new or existing technologies for SRE and data needs for organization.
- On-going review of onshore near shore and offshoring strategy
- Design and maintain business and operational intelligence dashboards to track key metrics such as MTTR MTTD CSAT etc.
- Build business and functional domain knowledge as appropriate.
- Ensure delivery is anchored in operational KPIs to provide real-time operational insights evidence of policy compliance and demonstrated value-delivery of investments.
- Curate and deliver biweekly communications to align internal and external teams on strategic initiatives and ongoing value delivery.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in IT strategy SRE cloud infrastructure or enterprise architecture with a top-tier strategy consulting firm corporate strategy department planning and allocation department or similar.
- Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering principles cloud-native technologies (AWS Azure or GCP) and hybrid cloud strategies.
- Proven success in leading large-scale transformations across global distributed and federated business models.
- Experience with enterprise vendors and contracts especially in infrastructure licensing and managed services contexts.
- Exceptional ability to translate technical complexity into executive insightstrong in visual storytelling data synthesis and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration within matrixed organizations comfortable working across legal finance operations engineering and vendor ecosystems.
- Demonstrated experience of the full program life cycle from concept through to implementation with a positive self-motivated drive and tenacious attitude.
- Bachelors degree in engineering computer science business or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Retail Travel hospitality or franchising industry exposure.
- Familiarity with full stack technology lifecycle management and OpEx/CapEx planning.
- Prior experience managing ESXi clusters hypervisors API/microservices and public cloud environments (preferably AWS Azure and Ali Cloud)
- Prior experience managing security vulnerability remediation within windows AIX RHEL and public cloud environments.
The pay range for this position is $47.30 to $78.32 per hour.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
