Job Description
Tech Risk Guides (TRG) at Capital One are highly motivated tech and cyber risk management professionals with strong analytical organizational planning strategic thinking and communication skills. These skills allow us to gain insights and act as a change agent to influence our tech and business partners. A successful candidate will be able to apply their Tech and Cyber risk management skills to inform and provide sound HR tech and cyber risk decisions. They are forward thinking quick to adapt and have a high degree of ownership in supporting their line of business. As a TRG within the HR Risk Office team covering multiple lines of HR business (e.g.; Talent Acquisitions CompensationBenefits) we are the first line of defense to ensure these lines of business are well-managed and avoid unnecessary risk. In this position you will play a key role in ensuring the identification and management of our tech risk profile across the lines of business we support.
Build successful relationships within their line of business business risk offices and team members to understand the impact of HR technology risk on critical business processes
Perform risk reviews during various processes such as Risk Control and Self Assessments (RCSAs) Process Level Assessments (PLA) Exceptions Issues and Events LAUNCH Assessments Targeted Risk Assessments and recommend on risk mitigation activities.
This role will be responsible for coordinating and executing a well-managed HR tech & cyber risk program and managing a team of HR risk associates
Influence and inform leaders within the lines of business Business Risk Offices Compliance Cyber Security second line risk organizations and Internal Audit on key HR technology risks and actions needed
Conduct periodic risk reviews and support reporting for HR technology risk metrics
Develop risk analysis perform deep dive investigations and drive specific risk initiatives to minimize risk posture and strengthen overall control suite effectiveness
Partner with HR tech leaders to ensure technical KRI/KPIs are managed appropriately
Design and support internal risk and control governance processes
Identify and implement continual tech risk program enhancements based on industry standards and best practices in alignment with Capital Ones strategic risk direction
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma GED or equivalent certification
At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management
At least 4 years of experience supporting partnering and interacting with internal business clients
At least 5 years of experience in project process or program management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or military experience
6 years experience in Risk Management
2 years experience of tech and cyber risk management experience leading cross functional risk management projects in a public cloud based environment
5 years experience working with cross functional teams of all levels
CISA CRISC CISSP CISM or other Industry Risk Professional Certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean VA: $170800 - $194900 for Sr. Risk ManagerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
