JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title:Food Services Director

Department:Accounting

Reports To:Chief Financial Officer

Salary Range:$50000-65000 annually (based on small number of students served)

Position Type:Exempt

Schedule:12-month

All employment at PSAS is under the PERA retirement plan. By accepting employment at

MAJOR FUNCTION:

This full-time position will oversee all aspects of food service operation including staff management budget control food safety training and ensuring high standards of sanitation and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Staff management: including hiring training supervising and evaluating food service personnel.

  • Budgeting and financial management:Monitoring budgets in cooperation with the business manager managing expenses and ensuring timely billing and reimbursementswith the Colorado Department of Education.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety in all food service facilities and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Record Keeping and Reporting:Maintaining records of food production deliveries and inventories and preparing reports as needed.
  • Coordination and Communication:Planning and coordinating food service operations with other departments and communicating with staff and stakeholders.
  • Compliance:Ensuring compliance with all contractual agreements regulatory requirements and program performance standards.
  • Performance Measurement:Developing and implementing performance measurement processes including data collection submission and analysis.

To perform this job successfully an individual must have the requisite knowledge skills and ability to be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. It is determined that to carry out the essential duties and responsibilities an individual must be able to work at a desk conference table or in meetings of various configurations; stand and circulate for extended periods; hear and understand speech at normal levels; see up close at a distance and have depth perception; communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversations; bend and twist stoop kneel run and crawl; reach in all directions; and lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

  7. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  8. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard mouse and to handle computer components for extended periods
  9. Highly self-motivated and directed




Other duties assigned by the director principal or designee.

Note: This position requires the ability to work occasional evenings to support all programs field trips and to monitor students before/after school or during lunch and recess. You must be able to work these hours to be considered for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

  • 2-year degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience working in food services industry

PREFERRED:

  • Previous experience working in food services in education
  • Demonstrated technology proficiencies in the use of Microsoft Office Internet Simple Webpage building Electronic Gradebook and Email;
  • Demonstrated ability to create instructional units surrounding nutrition for students and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team and create employee engagement as a supervisor;
  • Verifiable experience dealing with conflict resolution;
  • Verifiable experience working in a position that required organizational and planning skills;

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Participation in payroll automatic deposit.
