INTERPRETER/TRANSLATOR (SPANISH)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Provides professional interpretation and translation services on a contractual basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by
converting one spoken language to another.
* Attend conferences meetings and hearings and act as official translator to mediate discussion.
* Create a new text in the target language that reproduces the content and style of the original.
* Edit and proofread text to accurately reflect language.
* Receive and submit assignments electronically.
* Facilitate communication for people with limited English proficiency.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in World Languages/Spanish or other related field preferred.
* Certificate of completion of an ethical training provided by an accredited program.
* Superior verbal and written multi-lingual skills.
* Experience working with limited English proficient populations.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
