Job Duties
Western State Hospital is recruiting for a RN-II Shift Supervisor (Formerly RNCB) to provide quality nursing care and a safe therapeutic environment for a specific patient population utilizing knowledge base and experience through the nursing process.
RN-II Shift Supervisor will coordinate services on assigned shifts and communicate clinical and administrative issue to nursing administration. A RN-II Shift Supervisor will evaluate supervise and document performance of staff.

2 Oak 2nd shift
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current employee of WSH. You must have a combined employment time
with WSH of one year. This can be waived to 6 months with a
recommendation from your current RNC.
Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff. Effective communication (written
verbal and sign).
Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team. Ability to assess plan implement and
evaluate patient care.
Ability to work overtime due to staffing emergencies in a 24-hour 7 day per week
psychiatric hospital which at times may mean working a 16-hour shift if and when
necessary.
Complete all annual competency training to include TOVA III with physical restraints.
Complete and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
with the American Heart Association
Demonstrates knowledge of recovery/trauma informed care.
Additional Considerations
Veteran or Spouse of Veteran.
Bilingual - Spanish preferred.
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or Compact License.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN MSN preferred).
Experience in nursing leadership preferred.
