Job Description

Employment type: Full time Fixed term until April 2028

Hours per week: 38

Remuneration: Band 7 salary from $115575.61 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO

Location: Werribee based


About the role

Join our Climate and Resilience Business Unit and make your mark by delivering the VCRC (Victorian Climate Resilient Councils) program in which you will develop online resources to help councils increase their adaptive capacity and become climate resilient promote the VCRC program itself and the benefits of climate resilience to councils.

You will use your highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills to collect and feed input from councils back into the program model and development of program requirements and support the timely delivery and evaluation of the project.

This position is linked to funding until April 2028 and while this is a full-time position we are open to discussing part time and job share applications.


What your day will look like

  • Working with groups of participating councils to set up and lead communities of practice and facilitate collaborative activities between councils
  • Developing and delivering regular webinars workshops and training for councils
  • Editing and updating the VCRC website as required
  • Coordinating writing and distributing monthly newsletters
  • Coordinating the development of appropriate resources for VCRC including guides and case studies
  • Supervising consultants as required
  • Supporting the reporting and final evaluation for the project



What you will bring

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science Environmental Management or similar with several years of subsequent relevant experience OR lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of climate change adaptation issues and challenges
  • Ability to provide responsive and timely program delivery to participants and deliver adaptation advice targeted to participants needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • A high level of self-motivation initiative and problem-solving skills
