Overview:

This assistant actuary position is responsible for supporting the Construction unit within Major Accounts. The role is based in our Philadelphia office and reports to the lead Construction Actuary in Major Accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Large Account Pricing:Collaborate closely with underwriters to provide actuarial support for both excess and primary construction groups.
  • Excess of Aggregate Study:Complete the annual excess of aggregate reserve review and quarterly updates of aggregate accounts.
  • Profitability Study:Conduct the annual Primary Construction Profit Study.
  • Reporting:Compile price monitor details monthly and benchmarking quarterly along with other miscellaneous reports.


Qualifications
  • ACAS or FCAS
  • 5 years of actuarial experience
  • Proficiency in R and SQL is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify the source of a problem and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with other disciplines; capable of providing clear and concise verbal and written communications regarding analyses and observations to non-actuarial business partners and leaders
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
