A well-established manufacturer of industrial thermal processing equipment is seeking a Test Technician experienced in electrical and HVAC testing and troubleshooting. This full-time position is based in New Columbia PA and involves hands-on testing and validation of high-temperature manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install set up and operate temperature controllers VFDs and other control instrumentation for testing purposes.
- Troubleshoot electrical PLC-based control systems and HVAC systems to ensure all equipment meets performance specifications.
- Complete basic plumbing operations related to equipment testing.
- Prepare layouts and conduct temperature and airflow uniformity studies.
- Coordinate and participate in testing connecting mechanical and electrical controls cabling tubing and instrumentation as needed.
- Record test data electronically ensuring detailed and accurate documentation and applying statistical quality control procedures.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment that does not function according to specifications prior to shipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and other departments regarding issues or trends identified during testing.
- Debug HMI controls and validate system accuracy and functionality.
- Interact professionally with customers when required.
Key Requirements:
- Associates degree or technical certificate or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- Six months to one year of experience in a related field preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics plumbing diagrams and technical manuals.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting VFDs and process control systems.
- Universal Refrigeration certification and/or Electrical certificate/training especially with high voltage power may be required.
- Proficient with digital tools for data entry MS Office and familiarity with manufacturing or testing software.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
- Forklift or scissor lift experience or willingness to obtain license preferred.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation abilities.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and occasionally interact with customers.
- Proficient with multi-meters amp probes and other diagnostic tools.
- Comfortable recommending process improvements or modifications to products.
