JOB TITLE:

LMS Specialist Assistant

JOB PURPOSE:

Part time position (12-20 hours/week maximum 79 hours/month) available to support UWs Learning Management Systems (WyoCourses WyoGroups and WyoLearn) course evaluations and informational web pages. Hours are flexible between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We will provide training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain support tool knowledge.
  • Process faculty and student requests
  • Ensure appropriate access to the Learning Management System.
  • Monitor the service desk incoming queue for LMS problems.
  • Troubleshoot requests from faculty staff and students related to the LMS.
  • Create and write documentation regarding processes policies and procedures.
  • Assist with course evaluations
  • Run reports using MS Access and MS Excel
  • Update and modify WyoCourses and WyoLearn web pages in Omni CMS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current student at UW
  • Good knowledge of MS Access and Excel
  • Good knowledge of web page modification

  • Provide excellent customer service to faculty staff and students by communicating clearly effectively and honestly.
  • Must be good at active listening and be empathetic to users of the system.
  • Good analytical and problem solving capabilities with the ability to communicate complex issues to users of the system.
  • Excellent attention to detail by applying quality standards to all tasks undertaken and ensuring that nothing is overlooked.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
