We are seeking a talented individual to join our Underwriting team at Torrent Technologies. This role will be based in Overland Park Kalispell or can be performed remotely nationwide. As a Flood Underwriter you will work under the supervision of the Underwriting Manager reviewing and analyzing quotations while servicing an existing book of business.
We will count on you to:
- Underwrite new submissions to ensure new policies are correct per guidelines.
- Process endorsements cancellations and reinstatements handle billing issues and complete policy issuance.
- Review all underwriting information including applications photographs elevation certificates and third-party internet resources to accurately underwrite policies.
- Provide customer service to agents via phone support online chat and emails meeting required production KPIs as defined by leadership.
- Deescalate difficult customer situations and bring them to complete resolution.
- Actively participate in group activities including daily huddles team meetings and training opportunities.
What you need to have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 years of insurance underwriting experience with flood experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of systems and procedures with attention to detail.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite particularly Word Excel and Outlook.
What makes you stand out:
- Previous customer service experience.
- 2 years of underwriting experience with an ANFI designation.
- Experience with underwriting methodologies and flood insurance practices along with familiarity with organizational insurance procedures and policies.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and clients.
