Job Description
OBJECTIVE
To encourage the beneficial use of electricity and to educate the membership on the use of electrical appliances and HVAC systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advises and assists members with problems and questions pertaining to the wise use of electricity. Explains various ways electricity can be conserved.
- Handles member questions and concerns such as electric heating air conditioning solar EVs and home appliances demand billing etc.
- Promotes the cooperatives various energy services programs; provides members with information makes recommendations provides follow-up and completes all necessary paperwork.
- Visits homes with high-usage complaints and conducts walk-through energy audits using auditing software as appropriate. Follows up with letters and literature as appropriate.
- Maintains complete and accurate records for activities associated with this position.
- Advises and assists local builders contractors and developers with the selection of accurately sized energy-efficient appliances for their construction projects.
- Works with members building new homes in the selection of energy-efficient appliances.
- Works with staff on development of informational programs for builders members and real estate agents.
- Participates in local builders organizations keeping informed of energy-efficiency developments products and programs to better advise members builders and contractors.
- Assists with various youth and safety programs upon request.
- Builds and maintains relationships with landlords of multi-family dwellings.
- Assists with the annual meeting and other cooperative functions as directed.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Work Experience
One (1) year of experience in energy related field is preferred.
Technical background is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have a good understanding of building science. Must have good communications skills in order to effectively pass along information to members. Proficient in Microsoft office.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required to pass a physical examination when employed. Must have sufficient health to perform the essential functions duties and responsibilities of the job. Lifting to fifty (50) pounds.
