Looking for your next challenge North America Sort Centers (NASC) are experiencing explosive growth and looking for a skilled highly motivated and experienced leader with a strong delivery record to join the NASC Network Operations Control (US and Canada). The Sort Center network is the critical Middle-Mile solution in the Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) group linking Fulfillment Centers to the Last Mile. The experience of our customers is dependent on our ability to efficiently execute new programs and manage volume flow through the middle-mile network. The NASC Network Operations Control is expected to address increasing operational complexity from the evolution of new processes such as containerization heavy-bulky freight international shipping customer returns and Amazon Robotics solutions.
In an effort to drive operational excellence in the Sort Center network Network Operations Control will be first line of defense and it will provide 24x7 support to our operations engage with rest of the network and manage site/node/network contingencies proactively. Network Operations Control will monitor key leading indicators across the network upstream and downstream round the clock to mitigate customer risk and standardize network response to risk.
The NOC Specialist is responsible for managing volume and workflow of multiple Sort Centers from a centralized location. This individual will provide real-time visibility to site flows performance and customer facing risk. Serving as a liaison between site leadership and network support teams NOC Specialists will execute risk mitigation tactics. This role is not remote and does require you to be local to Tempe AZ.
Key job responsibilities
Manage NASC customer shipment workflows using automated tools and web platforms
Maintain constant and proactive virtual communication with Sort Center Operations leaders regarding shipment workflow status
Trials of new tools and systems and provide feedback on functionality while gathering Sort Center Operations feedback
Construct post-mortem reports on shift successes or failures relative to established operational goals or thresholds
Act as an advisor to Sort Center Operations leaders and provide recommendations and guidance to ensure the maintenance of a strong partnership and achievement of common goals: delivering for customers
Drive risk management strategies for Sort Centers to ensure Service Level Agreements for customer shipments are met
Able make business decisions based on data that drive cost reduction and enhanced customer experience
- 1 years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- High school or equivalent
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area including weekends nights and/or holidays
- Can lift up to 49 pounds stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours and be able to frequently push pull squat bend and reach
- Work 40 hours/week and overtime as required
- Are 18 years of age or older
- College degree in Engineering Operations Logistics or related field
