Job Description:

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is seeking a Technical Support Analyst III to join their team. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining analyzing troubleshooting and repairing computer systems hardware and peripherals. The role also involves documenting and upgrading systems supporting user accounts and maintaining security protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair computer systems hardware and peripherals.

  • Document and maintain hardware/software systems; assist in upgrades or replacements.

  • Support user account information including rights security and systems groups.

  • Operate monitor install and maintain communications equipment.

  • Identify and resolve basic communications problems.

  • Assist in preparing service record documentation.

  • Provide technical support for application and hardware-related issues.

  • Install maintain and test new and existing hardware/software.

  • Review and recommend procurement of IT equipment.

  • Maintain necessary software security controls.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in IT-related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management (Incident Change Service Request Asset Management).

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook Forms SharePoint Teams Bookings).

  • Ability to lead meetings gather requirements escalate and research issues and prepare documentation.

  • Hands-on or service desk experience in troubleshooting hardware/software.

  • Strong written communication skills; ability to explain technical issues clearly via email.

  • Basic understanding of various technologies and ability to research technical issues.

  • PC/Hardware troubleshooting experience.

Highly Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) policies and processes.

  • Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (Associate level or above).

  • Experience supporting a Windows 10 desktop environment.

  • Demonstrated success in team collaboration and achieving shared objectives.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
